Discover the majesty of Machu Picchu, South America’s most iconic archaeological sanctuary and one of the world’s most admired wonders, through a carefully organized full-day experience.
This program has been designed for travelers who wish to visit the Inca citadel in a single day while enjoying a comfortable, safe, and enriching journey from Cusco. Throughout the experience, our team will coordinate every logistical detail, providing all the necessary information to ensure a smooth, memorable, and worry-free visit.
Machu Picchu is far more than a destination; it is a sacred place where Inca architecture, nature, and the energy of the Andes come together in perfect harmony. During your visit, you will explore its main sectors, learn about its fascinating history, and contemplate one of the most breathtaking landscapes in Peru.
DAY 1: CUSCO – MACHU PICCHU – CUSCO
Very early in the morning, at approximately 4:00 a.m., we will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco in our tourist transportation and transfer you to the town of Ollantaytambo.
Upon arrival at the train station, you will board the selected train service operated by PeruRail or Inca Rail, with an approximate departure between 6:40 a.m. and 7:20 a.m., depending on availability. During the journey to Aguas Calientes, you will enjoy a beautiful scenic ride surrounded by mountains, valleys, rivers, and Andean landscapes.
After approximately two hours of travel, you will arrive in the town of Aguas Calientes, located at 2,000 m.a.s.l., where our guide will be waiting for you outside the train station.
We will then head to the bus station to board the shuttle bus up to the archaeological complex of Machu Picchu.
Once inside the citadel, we will begin a guided tour of approximately 2 hours, visiting the most important sectors of the sanctuary, including the Main Plaza, the Urban Sector, the Agricultural Sector, the Circular Tower, the Sacred Sundial, the Royal Quarters, the Temple of the Three Windows, and other areas of great historical and spiritual value.
During the tour, your guide will share insights into the history, architecture, symbolism, and mystery that make Machu Picchu one of the most extraordinary places in the world.
After the guided visit, you will have free time, according to current regulations and the schedule of your entrance ticket, to take photographs, admire the scenery, and enjoy the unique energy of this sacred sanctuary.
In the afternoon, we will return by bus to Aguas Calientes, where you will have time to enjoy lunch or explore the town before boarding the train back to Ollantaytambo.
The return train will depart approximately between 7:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m., depending on availability. Upon arrival at Ollantaytambo train station, our tourist transportation will be waiting to transfer you back to the city of Cusco.
Arrival is scheduled for approximately 11:30 p.m., at San Francisco Square or at a previously coordinated drop-off point.
