This exclusive full-day journey invites you to discover a breathtaking landscape surrounded by snow-capped peaks, high-altitude valleys, crystal-clear lagoons, and vibrant mineral formations that have made this destination one of Peru’s most iconic natural treasures.

Along the way, you will travel through traditional Andean communities, witness local life in its most authentic form, and encounter native wildlife such as alpacas, llamas, and vicuñas. Towering above the landscape stands the magnificent Ausangate Mountain, one of the most sacred and revered peaks in Andean culture.

Itinerario
Día 1

CUSCO – CHILLIHUANI – RAINBOW MOUNTAIN – CUSCO

Your adventure begins early in the morning with a private pickup from your hotel in Cusco at approximately 4:00 a.m.

We will travel by private tourist transportation for approximately three hours to the Andean community of Chillihuani, surrounded by spectacular mountain scenery.

Upon arrival, we will enjoy an energizing breakfast before continuing to Phulawasipata, the starting point of our hike.

From here, we begin our ascent through stunning high-altitude landscapes featuring mountain streams, rolling valleys, and unparalleled views of the majestic Ausangate Glacier, which rises to an impressive 6,385 m / 20,945 ft above sea level.

Along the route, you will have the opportunity to observe native flora and iconic Andean wildlife, including alpacas, llamas, and vicuñas.

After approximately two hours of hiking, we will reach the summit of Rainbow Mountain, located at 5,200 m / 16,466 ft above sea level, arriving around 11:30 a.m.

At the summit, your guide will provide insight into the geological formation and cultural significance of this remarkable destination. You will then have free time to admire the vibrant colors, capture spectacular photographs, and enjoy panoramic views of the stunning Red Valley located behind Rainbow Mountain.

We will remain at the summit for approximately 30 minutes, depending on weather conditions and the group’s pace.

Afterward, we begin our descent along the same trail, hiking approximately two hours back to our transportation.

We then return to Chillihuani, where a comforting lunch awaits before beginning our journey back to Cusco.

Arrival at your hotel is scheduled for approximately 6:00 p.m.
